Black Girls Lifting Club was born from a desire to change the narrative. We’re creating a space where Black women feel seen, supported, and strong — lifting weights, lifting each other, and reclaiming wellness on our own terms.

What To Expect

This isn’t your average gym vibe — this is a space built with YOU in mind, Sis. When you walk into Black Girls Lifting Club, you’ll be met with warmth, encouragement, and a deep knowing that you belong here. We lift weights, but we also lift each other. Expect head-nods, hype-ups, playlists that feel like home, and a coach who understand how to train YOUR body with care and power. Whether you’re brand new to lifting or rediscovering your strength, you’ll never be alone in the journey. No pressure. No performance. Just progress — at your pace, in your power.

Who The BG Lifting Club is for

This space is for Black women of all backgrounds, body types, and fitness levels — whether you're lifting for the first time or coming back stronger.

Workouts are offered monthly on Sunday's from 11:00a - 12:00p.

Current members of SHIFT can use their existing package and a Drop In option is also available

Meet Zakia Torres

Certified Personal Trainer

Zakia is a passionate group fitness coach and trainer who believes movement is medicine and community is everything.  She likes to make strength training fun, welcoming and accessible for every woman - no matter where she's starting from
