One of the most magical times in your life can also be THE most stressful. The journey to parenthood is filled with so much beauty AND so much worry. We want new parents and caregivers to have a place to come to take care of not only their bodies, but their mind and soul during their journey into parenting.
At SHIFT, we feel so blessed to have a dedicated Pre & PostNatal Advocate in our teaching family - Julia Shelton Otten. As a Mom of Twins, born right in the middle of the pandemic, she is deeply invested in shining a light on the physical, mental, and emotional needs of new parents. She is a compassionate yoga teacher, a lover of human connection and passionately champions all of our new Parent Focused Offerings!
Meet Julia Shelton Otten
After losing her father to cancer and getting diagnosed with some health issues, Julia struggled to make sense of her new normal. It wasn't until she started practicing yoga that she was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Yoga became her outlet and helped her realize she had the strength within herself to get through the highs and lows of life. Helping others see this is what made her want to become a teacher. She believes we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for and if we can take a few minutes on our mat each day transformation will happen.
Every BODY is welcome in Julia’s classes! She combines pranayama and asana to encourage students to work through mental and physical sensations in order to stay present and receive the many blessings yoga offers.
Julia loves the richness of a group of women meeting authentically on the Motherhood journey and she is always accessible to her community.
